Community Supported Agriculture Community Farm: CSA program When you join a CSA program you are investing in local farming and food, and helping to create food security in your neighborhood. The funds that come in early in the year are essential to the farmer to cover the costs of starting the season. Joining a CSA is often a good value for members, but is not the cheapest way to buy food. This year the Garberville Community Farm is teaming up with the Community Park. We have full and half subscription options. There is also an option for farm fresh eggs. The CSA starts in June for a 22 weeks season. The year begins with cooler season vegetables such as lettuce and other salad greens, peas and cole crops like broccoli and cabbage. As the crops ripen over the summer the menu shifts into summer foods like squash and tomatoes, potatoes, corn, peppers and melons. Join us for weekly garden workdays on Saturday mornings in the greenhouse, planting seeds and transplanting seedlings. Here's to a good gardening season ahead! Call for information 923-2287 | |
